At Cricket Arena CIC, our mission is to harness the power of cricket and sports as tools for social cohesion and personal development. Established in 2022, we are a Community Interest Company based in Sheffield, dedicated to building a strong, inclusive community by making sports accessible to everyone, especially in underserved neighbourhoods.
Our primary aim is to provide engaging sports and social activities that promote physical health, teamwork, and leadership skills, helping individuals of all ages to thrive both on and off the field. We believe in using sports as a catalyst for positive change, focusing on youth development, community engagement, and social cohesion.
Cricket Arena CIC was founded by two passionate individuals, Hamzah Hussain and Waqar Arshad, who recognized the transformative potential of sports in their community.
Since our inception, we have grown rapidly, engaging hundreds of participants across various age groups in both indoor and outdoor cricket leagues, youth clubs, and community events.We have successfully launched several key initiatives, such as the "Youth Hundred" competition and the "BBICL" (Big Bash Indoor Cricket League), which have become cornerstones of our engagement strategy. Our programmes are designed to cater to all, from young children taking their first steps in sports to adults looking to stay active and connected within the community.

Looking ahead, Cricket Arena CIC is poised for exciting developments. In 2025, we plan to expand our offerings by opening a dedicated arena for cricket and other sports.
